In 1995, Broadway Kitchens & Baths started its New York Times advertising campaign with the question: I want to redo my kitchen... where do I start? This was done because, after listening to people walking through our door, it was evident that the user was not getting proper information to make an informed decision. The decision process doesn't have to feel overwhelming.

I'd always been told that kitchen renovations were the toughest. We had already lived in the apartment during two separate bathroom renovations. It was time to find a new general contractor. We found that interviewing contractors for the job was stressful: costs were not disclosed up front and none gave us the feeling that we could trust them to deal with us fairly. So, it turned out to be a welcome pleasure to deal with Broadway Kitchen and Bath's owner, Jeff Chinman.
From the beginning, he was honest and forthcoming about all aspects of the renovation. He really is a gem: a NYC vendor for many years who really has the customer's best interests in mind. While the showroom is unimpressive, it turns out that everything ordered through them turned out to be of good quality and reasonably priced. As various unexpected expenses were incurred, additional charges were also handled in a fair manner.
At times when another contractor might have taken the easy way out on some aspect of the job, we found that Jeff would listen to our concerns and would try to find a solution that would satisfy us. No cutting corners! The two associates who were assigned to our job were terrific: Jimmy and Oscar. They managed to be as unobtrusive as they could be (e.g., cutting wood out on our balcony even in the bitter cold to minimize dust and noise). Would I hire them again? YES, absolutely. Did they meet expectations? YES, over and above.

WARNING: Do Not Use this company. Broadway Kitchen & Bath is a terrible choice to do work in your home. They are unresponsive and unprofessional and completely disorganized. The project they told us would take weeks, took months (and months, and months) to complete. They made mistake after mistake after mistake. It was a comedy of errors. Expect a ton of hassle if you work with them.

This company is horrible. I was warned by others to stay away and should have listened. A very small project went on and on for months with bad work, missed deadlines and poor communications. We received nothing but excuses when we complained. So many other decent and reputable companies out there. Once this company has your money you become their last priority. You've been warned!

The WORST possible experience. Jeff was a disaster to work with. He made our experience terrible, aggravating and after we sighed the contract kept upping up the prices of everything he quoted us. He subcontracts his work and they screwed up multiple times. I quote there response to building a wall in an open kitchen - "we're working on the wrong plans". Whenever you hire a contractor get 3 references. In this case all you need it mine, go elsewhere and save yourself time, money and lots of aggravation. Cheap is expensive!

I rarely leave reviews, but service at BK&B has been so poor I feel obliged to do so. Ordered fabrication and installation of a bathroom vanity top, very simple job. After multiple delays it was finally installed but with incorrect dimensions and placement. Despite 2 months of attempts, multiple phone calls, promises not met etc I have still been unable to get any resolution on this issue. Please do not use this provider. Poor work, poor service. Very unreliable. Dayna was the account manager.

Not only did I find the extensive selection of cabinetry and counters to be beautiful and really well priced, their design was perfect. So well thought out in optimizing space and maintaining my budget. I couldn't be happier with my new kitchen. My experience was enhanced by the prompt attention and the stellar customer service I received! I highly recommend BKB.

I love this place! I was looking for a vanity with 3 holes so I could have soap and lotion dispensers. The one I wanted had only one hole. They not only made the 2 extra holes, but also adjusted the top draw to make room for the soap and lotion dispenser bottles. My sales rep was Dayna and I can't say enough about her! She really went the extra mile for me. GREAT customer service!

I decided to renovate my bathroom and decided to see what they have available as they are close to my job. The staff was very friendly, informative and showed me what I could get for my budget. They had many options, more then I expected. The prices were also decent. I would most definitely recommend them and will probably use them next time I plan to renovate

Thank heavens for Broadway Kitchens and Baths! I was fortunate to have Jeff and Melanie spend time and energy meeting and advising me not only prior to construction but during the process as well. I started just planning to do one bathroom, but ended up not only doing a second bathroom, but also my kitchen! I am thrilled with the work, especially the attention to detail! The only bummer is that they don't do living rooms and bedrooms! If I knew how to add a picture I would!

Al Gencarelli at Broadway Kitchens & Baths (http://www.broadwaykitchens.com) was recommended to us by our upstairs neighbors. We live in a 3-bedroom apartment in an older (1900) co-op building. Al did our neighbors' kitchen; he did our bath. The process went very smoothly, with few hitches. Al is "old school, " very personable and accessible, and he coordinated all the plumbing, tiling, etc. and helped us pick out some of the materials.
Our renovation consisted of knocking out all the walls to install new tiling and plumbing, then new floor, sink, tub, shower fixtures, vanity, and mirrored medicine chest. The guy who did the tile work is a true artist; it's so perfect it looks like it was done by machine! Al was even able to source a remnant of the countertop I wanted from a supplier (our space was too small for an entire slab).
One thing to keep in mind is to try to be as specific as possible with regard to placement of accessories like towel bars and toilet paper holders. Also know where your water supply is, in case it needs to be shut off! It's easy to overlook these details when you're having a major overhaul done, so there was some miscommunication. But the major stuff was done properly, with little downtime.
Our total renovation took about three and a half weeks, with one week lag while waiting for some items to be delivered. Overall we are very pleased with Al and BKB and would recommend them to anyone undertaking a renovation project.

Do not use them! A kitchen and bath renovation was promised to be completed in 2 weeks (we knew that would never happen), but it turned out to take an unfathomable 9 months. George Man was a disaster, he never answers his emails, his measurements were all wrong, he gave us an estimate that did not include appliances, and did not let us know that, (then he says, "you have to buy the appliances, ") but we didn't trust his bad measurements!
His billing was always wrong, and owner Jeff Chinman was equally disinterested, and unresponsive to complaints. They discovered a structural beam, adding $3000 to the job. Sloppy work that required many re-dos. Go elsewhere.

Peggy M. Coleman We have just completed our kitchen renovation in our New York City apartment. I cannot praise Charles and Broadway Kitchens & Baths enough! Our Kitchen is beautiful. The cabinets and quartz counter tops are well constructed, they were installed timely and efficiently and they are amazing and we love everything! Charles is not only delightful to work with - he responds to you immediately and keeps right on schedule. I also want to thank Lori for her assistance. P&P&R

I'm buying new countertops for my sizable kitchen and went into Broadway Kitchens & Baths today to get a quote from them for Quartz countertops. They were completely uninterested in helping me. The man who ended up "helping" was rude and only showed me one section of samples available, then completely disappeared leaving me alone. They have what I want but I'm not going to buy from them. They simply couldn't have been less helpful or less interested and I don't want to reward them with my business.

They helped me choose, purchase, and install a beautiful new bathroom sink. They were very friendly throughout the whole process and the parts came quickly. They were friendly, personable, professional, and clearly well versed in the business. It has a lovely family run feel that is all too rare these days and go above and beyond to take care of their customers. I would definitely recommend their services.

Broadway Kitchens did my kitchen about 2 years ago and did a great job. My neighbor upstairs had a flood and I thought my kitchen would never get repaired. I called Broadway and they made what I thought was a big thing into - no problem. I'm glad I went with Broadway Kitchens, because most places would never have helped me

Broadway kitchens was excellent. Charles was terrific and assisted with all aspects of the project - starting with the first day we met at the store and discussed the design of a galley kitchen and two bathrooms. All materials were ordered through Broadway and Charles coordinated the entire process including assistance with all of the floor and. wall tiles as well assistance with all appliances. Charles is extremely attentive and will make sure every detail is considered during design, order placement, delivery and installation. The project was completed within our budget. We would strongly recommend Charles for kitchen and projects especially in NYC.

I had my kitchen remodeled in 2005 for approximately $25,000.00 this did not include the appliances. I did have a cabinet front applied to the dishwasher. I assume Broadway Kitchens & Baths know that the cabinets they offer will withstand a normal amount of water. I live alone so there is not a lot of cooking in my kitchen or dish washing because I have a dishwasher.
All the veneer cabinets above my sink, below my sink, across from my sink and the dishwasher cabinet front has cracked, splits all the edges have come apart from the cabinets. The dishwasher had to be replaced because it was not installed properly the workman drilled new hole trying to stabilize the dishwasher. The maker of the dishwasher would not be responsible for any repair because of the way the appliance was installed.
I thought this new kitchen would last at least 20 years now I have to replace all the cabinet fronts. My advise to anyone who considers using them should ask if the quality of the veneer cabinets they offer should be used in a kitchen or bathroom. One would think it would be a "no brainer" considering the name of their company.

I had such a good experience with BK&B with my bathroom remodeling a few years ago that I went back with confidence for my kitchen remodeling. Al Gencarelli and the other staff there were helpful, honest about costs, and open to discussing numerous options. Once basics were decided and a contract was signed, the remodeling went so smoothly. The guys worked around a snowstorm that delayed a major delivery plus unanticipated plumbing problems, and finished the job ahead of schedule.
Also great: they arrange my dining area to include not just room for deliveries and construction supplies, but also my old refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, etc., so I didn't have to eat all of my meals out during the remodeling. Everyone who has seen my new kitchen loves it, as do I.

Broadway Kitchen and Baths did a total renovation of my kitchen from start to finish. The quality of materials and the careful design using every square inch of my small NYC galley kitchen turned the room into. this home cook's dream space. What I now have is a drop dead gorgeous kitchen which looks and feels larger than it is and within which I can comfortably prepare meals. Well done guys.

I hired Broadway Kitchens and Baths to design/provide the cabinetry for my kitchen and master bathroom. I worked directly with the owner, Jeff Chinman, from start to finish. Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Jeff was a delight to work with right up until I signed the contract/paid him my deposit. Items came in incorrectly, several measurements he took were significantly off (9 short for an upper run of cabinets!).
Even when we triple confirmed measurements in writing and verbally, they still came in incorrectly. I ended up wasting over a thousand dollars on a cabinet for my master bathroom that we ultimately couldn't use because the measurements were so far off. That being said, issues arise in any renovation, and if Jeff had been at all pleasant or efficient about fixing these issues, I wouldn't be writing this review. Instead, I found Jeff to be unresponsive, unorganized, and rude.
He quite literally got into a shouting argument with my contractor and I came to dread having to speak with him. I feel compelled to write this review so that no one else makes the mistake of hiring this firm -- Jeff is the owner of all 3 locations, and as such, he sets the tone/standards for this business. There are plenty of places that can provide these services -- no need to hire this one.

Broadway Kitchens & Baths completely re-did my kitchen when it was flooded beyond recognition. The job was done 100% within budget with absolutely no surprise costs or fees. Not only did BK&B do a beautiful job on my new kitchen, the ultimate buyers of the apartment loved the work, and did practically nothing to change the appearance. The. quality of goods and craftsmanship, as well as the timeliness and budgetary concerns of BK&B makes the company a definite go-to organization for kitchen remodeling and renovation. I recommend BK&B without reservation!

I hired Broadway Kitchens to gut renovate both my bathroom and kitchen. Working with Al and Jeff was a blast. I had never undertaken anything like this before and the 2 of them 'Quarterbacked' the entire project from start to finish. They didn't have any hidden costs either, everything we agreed upon in the initial contract stages was followed through. I would definitely recommend Broadway Kitchens to anyone looking for a respected contractor and designer.
