We recommend that you allow your new cabinetry to acclimate itself to the environment of your home for 30 to 60 days. During this acclimation period, you may notice some shifting of doors that may make them appear to be warped or bowed. This is a normal occurrence as the wood in your cabinetry expands and contracts as it adjusts to its new environment.
Dusting: Dust cabinets frequently with a soft lint-free cloth. You can dampen the cloth slightly with water or a spray-type dust remover. We advise against the use of Endust Dusting and Cleaning spray as they may leave a hazy film on the cabinet finish. Polishing: We recommend that you wash and polish cabinets once or twice each year.
It seems like other areas of my home could benefit from the function and beauty of cabinetry as well. Can it be used in other rooms besides the kitchen?. Do I have to spend an arm and a leg today to get beautiful, quality cabinetry I will love for years to come?. When we decided to go with Quality Cabinets for an update on our kitchen, Painting outside of cabinets, replacing doors on cabinets and new countertop, it was months before he could get to us. He came once to do measurements but when I went to pick out the countertops at the office, he couldn't even find the paperwork and he came back to do measurements.
The office was very disorganized and no computer backup. We finally called after months, and he said he would come the next week and by the end of the week, after not hearing from him, we called again on a Friday, and he said he would come the next week, and then another week! Well I had one day to get everything out of my cabinets, as they were replacing doors on the cabinets and painting the outside of the cabinets as we were going with white to replace cherry.
I moved it all out into my living room and this was a lot of work for one day's notice. After coming 2 days to work on it, they told me they couldn't come the next day. I'm sure they had another job. so I had to wait 4 days with my living room full of kitchen stuff. They came the 3rd day after being gone, it was one guy by himself, and he finished up painting the outside of the cabinets and placing the doors.
He left quickly. He didn't even put in the sink, nor did they put back the fan over the oven but they told me they would be able to do that when I called to ask. I noticed the outside looked different color from the new white doors, and then realized the wood still showed through. They did 2 coats but obviously 3 were needed. I told them and they offered paint to me!
I paid them to do this! Everyone who has seen the cabinets comments that it needed more coats and were shocked to see the wood showing through. Now the real kicker, after months have passed I was cleaning and realized they did not even paint one side of the cabinet but left it cherry while the other parts are painted white. This has 4 inches between it and the refrigerator so I had not noticed!
I was shocked they did not even care to paint that side when all that was needed was to pull out the refrigerator. So I have one side of my cabinets still cherry wood! I will say I was greatly disappointed with the job and the casual way of dismissing when they said they were coming 3 different times, 3 weeks, that they never got back we had to call them.
Then the work was rushed and not done properly. Also, we paid half of the cost of the job months before the work was done, yet the day they finished the owner was calling for the balance, and was anxious that we waited a couple of days literally! Even after telling him the paint job had wood showing. We should have not even PAID the rest until they fixed it. Beware. unless. I guess, you are a contractor maybe.
