The foundation of Barron & Jacobs began in 1963, when Mr. Cecil R. "Jake" Jacobs, President of Barron and Jacobs, completed his tour of duty in Vietnam with the 6143rd Engineering Group. When he returned from Vietnam, Mr. Jacobs was hired as a designer for the Architectural Building Products Division of Reynolds Metals Company, (Reynolds Aluminum).

Barron & Jacobs will design, manage and build your remodeling and/or renovation project with single source accountability, without taxing your precious time. This hassle-free approach makes Barron & Jacobs fully accountable for your project, maintaining a streamlined project schedule.
The Barron and Jacobs Design Center, located at 70 Old South Street, is in beautiful downtown Northampton - a sophisticated Western Massachusetts town with all the cultural, artistic, academic, and business amenities of a big city. Our offices are a perfect example of our restoration skills, and our commitment to the architectural heritage of our community.

We hired Barron & Jacobs Associates to remodel our porch and side our house. The job was handled professionally from start to finish. Chris is an excellent communicator and was always available to answer questions and address concerns. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and were so pleased with the result of both projects. Barron & Jacobs receives our highest recommendation.

I had a wonderful experience working with Barron and Jacobs during my renovations. I renovated my parents home after loosing both of them in a 5 month period of time. I had time constraints dealing with the banks, and dealing with probate issues. Barron and Jacobs came through. They were on time, professional, caring as to what I was going through, and the finished renovations were done extraordinarily well. The crew that worked on my home were friendly and professional. Communication with Barron & Jacobs was excellent from the start. That was the primary reason we chose them as our contractor for a major home remodel. The crew was helpful and respectful throughout their six months of working on our house. They were responsive to our needs and flexible in their plans. I had a wonderful screen porch that I couldn't enjoy as much as I wanted to because of allergies. Baron and Jacobs turned it into a three season room and it is now my favorite room in the house. Their thoughtful design kept in line with the character of my older home; it blends in beautifully. And I can't say enough about the craftsmanship, it is truly beautiful.
The team asked about my schedule and were very respectful when it came to start and finish times. They were also respectful of the schedule of the gal that lives upstairs from me. They were friendly with my two dogs and cleaned up their work at the end of every day so nothing was in my way. I couldn't be happier with the experience or the room and will not only use them on future projects, but would recommend them to anyone looking to have work done.

Andy Vecellio of Barron & Jacobs did a great job designing and managing my renovation project. He brought ideas to the table, coordinated the team of flooring installers, carpenters, and painters, was a good communicator, and accommodated my personal schedule. The crew also did a good job containing the mess and making sure the rest of the house remained livable during the project.

My 100 year old, 5th floor condo presented some unique challenges and the job took a bit longer than anticipated. However, the high quality workmanship that went into each detail made it was well worth the wait and having a project manager on site daily to coordinate the multi-faceted renovation and deal with my last minute changes was a huge plus.
My previously 1915 original condo is now the beautiful and modern space I hoped it would become and more. And everyone at Barron and Jacobs was fantastic to work with going above and beyond to satisfy this sometimes admittedly difficult customer. I can't thank them or recommend them enough.
