So far our experiences with Barbara, the designer here, have been great. She is very thorough in both her designs, inspections and design eyes. We are redoing our 2nd home's kitchen and when giving the estimate, she really took her time in our kitchen, took lots of notes, measurements, asked lots of questions about our preferences. We currently have a very bizarre hidden 2nd island that is extremely long, she went inside the hidden space to inspect it and measure it and suggested a cool cabinet that would make use of this space.
She has contractors she recommends, appliance dealers and tile dealers she works with often, all for a seamless process. I will update this review with before and after pictures once our kitchen is completed along with an updated experience. This is our first time getting a designer and doing a kitchen renovation.

After experiences with horrible contractors and designers that were more concerned about profiting on a job versus looking out for their clients, I wanted someone to just spare the superficial "niceties" and get the job done on time, at a fair price, using high quality materials while designing me a space that's not a carbon copy of my neighbor's.
That's what Barbara did for me. I despise cooking, and it's a bit easier now that my kitchen has the flow and beauty that Barbara created. Even though she requires an appointment, it's so she is not disturbed while she if focused, working on her clients' projects. The clients' needs come first. Although a cliche, it was clear to me - that's Barbara's philosophy.

I just read 2 reviews claiming the owner was rude. One reviewer (Jose) stated owner said "Can't you read English?" Understandable, since there is a sign on the door stating "No Solicitors" and apparently this reviewer was in fact a solicitor and not a customer. A second reviewer (Marcie) claimed Barbara was "extremely rude" Again, Marcie might think this since she did not have an appointment and just showed up as the owner was locking up the showroom for the day, after all there is a sign on the window stating "By Appointment Only".
This is not a walk-off the street showroom. Apparently neither Jose or Marcie can read the signs on the showroom window or choose to ignore them. "No Solicitors" and "By Appointment Only" means just that. I have known Barbara for many years and one thing is certain about her, she doesn't suffer the fool lightly. If fools can't read the signs they should not complain if they are not welcomed with open arms.
I have hired The Place for Kitchen and Baths on 3 different occasions to remodel my Boca and Chicago condos and to design my kitchen and baths in a very expensive custom home I designed. In all 3 instances I was more than satisfied with her professionalism, products and services. The quality of the work was great and would use her again without question, if the need arose in the future.

Rude. The second I walked in was greeted with "can you read English?" Her work might be good but her attitude absolutely needs it's own remodeling. 10-02-19 To follow up to the "owners" response: It really should not matter as I am also in the business of customer service and any and every person that walks through our doors are greeted as a potential customer or someone who might need help regarding our area of expertise.
The lady was rude and did not act as someone who has a business and serves others should. Inexcusable behavior as far as customer service from a business that is open to the public. I can go on about the specifics of her "Read English" comment but I am not that petty. Be careful with your words.

When you see Barbara's website, it's indisputable that she designs impeccable kitchens and baths. She is also skilled at a variety of aesthetics, which is nice as I've noticed some designers get in to a rut where each kitchen looks the same as the last. Not only are her designs beautiful, but functional (so important is you actually cook in your kitchen!) She is serious about what she does, and it shows.
