Cabinet Modern did an amazing job with my kitchen and restroom cabinets. The attention to detail went above and beyond of what I expected, Beautiful wood, excellent prices, what else can i ask for. Thank you Alex to you and your team : maybe a new closet? :D

In my opinion, RUNAWAY FROM THIS GUY/COMPANY. I called Cabinet Modern to ask if they make custom cabinet doors only. ALEX said yes and advised there would be a $50 fee to come out, take measurements and provide a proposal. I accepted and approved for Alex to come out. I PayPal him the money when his visit was over. When Alex arrived, I showed him the 6 doors I needed.

He tried to up sale me on a entire cabinet assembly, then a cabinet reface/frame/ and doors. I said I only need doors. Alex took the measurements and said the office would send the proposal via email. This was on a Wednesday. He promised I would receive it by Friday. FRIDAY< NOTHING. I texted him and he said I would get it. That next Tuesday, I texted him and still nothing.

I would not Trust Cabinet Modern/Alex as far as I could throw them in my opinion. Alex doesn't provide the services that were paid for as in MY experience. In my opinion, RUN and never use him. I seen all these reviews now. I should of looked before. REMEMBER, and don't say you were not warned about ALEX. Don't let happen what happened to me. These opinions are solely expressed by me, a actual customer.

Alex Barba (aka CabinetModern) is unethical and should be avoided at all costs. We gave him multiple chances to finish a very large kitchen remodel and he failed each time. I can write all of our issues, but to keep it short and professional, just dont use him or his company. Every negative review is accurate and correct. We did try to work with him and we gave him every chance to do the right thing.but it is not in his nature.

He will blame everyone else if any problems arrive.and in construction, there will always be problems. We are taking him to court for taking large amounts of money from us and not giving it back when he couldn't he no longer wanted to finish the job. And yes, he is unlicensed, which is why we will be filing a complaint with the contractor's licensing board. Do yourself a favor.and find someone you can trust to do your cabinets.

To make things short im not a customer. But just like everyone else i was scammed by the man. I have an upholstery business. This man did nit even a bring a full deposit. With his many 1,000 excuses. Made me do a job for his boat in under 24 hours. Claimed to always have the check ready. Used his business name for the invoice so he could use it with the irs for taxes.

Never paid me. This man has drinking problems, smokes a lot of weed. He's so irresponsible, he's such a big old man to have mommy issues. Since the first day i met him he was always canceling appointments and changing the times. Words can't seem to describe what a lying theft he is. He steals from all his clients and prides him self with pictures.

The one and only time i showed up to his business, the following day he claimed that i scarred his mom when you could clearly see in the picture im no where near his mom nor did i step foot inside his business. Until i get my court date settled with this man i will be bringing people awareness of what this man is doing to not only people who he hires, but also people that trust doing business with him in his own company. My balance is nothing compared to what he has stolen from some of you. Yet this man brags about being in a boat enjoying himself with money he didnt work for.

Alex Barbra is an UNLICENSED CONTRACTER! CA requires all contracts for home improvement over $499 requires the contractor to be licensed. His Contracts do not list any contractors license, his cards have no contractors license listed, website has no contractors license and Cabinet Modern has not listed on the CSLB website on. July 2nd, 2021 https://tinyurl.com/austtwrd. Contracts, are not legible, CA state law limits deposits of 10% of contract or $1,000 as a deposit but Alex my estimate asked for almost 50%.

I WISH I CAN GIVE HIM A NEGATIVE NUMBER! Alex also charges for estimates and no legit licensed contractor will do that. STAY AWAY! Alex Barba deserves only to be locked up in jail IMO.

I found Alex and Cabinet Modern from a friend online. I contacted him and he replied back to me same day. We discussed my needs and he listened and helped me decide the best choices for my needs. I will definitely use him for all my future needs. Plus he gave me fair prices!

Alex did such a great job in my kitchen. He worked with me in time and value. Answered my phone calls at any time of day. Im a very picky person and he was really patient with me everytime I changed my mind. Offers the best with what you have to work with. Services: Cupboard installation, Custom cabinets

STAY FAR AWAY! Alexander is the most unprofessional person you'll ever do business with. Worst prices, worst service, horrible quality, trying to sell me beat up cabinets claiming it as "new" and "custom built. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as possible.

I'm writing from my client's home where I have Alex and his team at Cabinet Modern install custom cabinets for their bar. It's a very complex job and the work look fabulous and I can't wait for my client to come back and enjoy his new modern Bar! Highly recommended

From point A through Z and Beyond, CABINET MODERN definitely knew how to keep up with me, they have been the most respectful efficient and reliable business that I could ever ask for to build all my three bathroom cabinets and the same exact format and shape that I wanted and mind you I'm a very picky girl that want everything to be the way I want it from Dimension to the color that I've chosen.

They went above their schedule time just to make me happy as a customer, they would even come on the weekends just to finish whatever that was left to be done. I'm not just putting this review up just for Yelp but to really say that I'm very happy with the outcome and that I've also had chosen the right people to fulfill my needs and every way possible. Thank you so so much for your beautiful and hard work you've been super GREATTT with eveything that you've done in my home. Can't wait to do my kitchen! :) :) :)

Got the best price from Alex, hung my new kitchen cabinets. The work was done with attention to detail and care. I had no idea how much work was actually involved in hanging cabinets. The installation was not rushed, they took the necessary time to do precise work.

These guys do great work Alex did kitchen and closets for me State of the art quality he also gave me great price and everything was done in timely manner as promised I will refer them to any. One who needs cabinetry

Alex and his crew did a great job refacing my bathroom cabinets. And his price was better than most others. His installer, Jesus, was very skilled and he made sure I was absolutely satisfied before the job was complete. I also visited Cabinets Modern's store front where they manufacture and Alex was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions about the process and methods. Would definitely use them again.

Cabinet modern was very caring it's unbelievable how much they care about all the details and they did as if it's their own family. They did such a great job I am going to continue to use their services for my next investment jobs here are some pictures. I almost did not give him the job due to the bad reviews that are not true and proving by their performance.

Alexander Barba, the owner, is the most unprofessional, unreliable, and untruthful vendor I have ever worked with. I have everything documented and may take him to small claims court. He NEVER finished my job and owes me at least $2,000 in deposits for materials/work he never delivered. I had to hire another contractor to finish the job. He constantly canceled appointments with no notice.

My job was a custom desk with a marble top waterfall. His design was bad; cabinets too wide, printer space too small. I requested my money back several times. He stopped returning my calls and texts. This man is a thief, do not use him.

Alex Barba, Alex Barba, Alex Barba.if someone by that name answers the phone hang up. The man will con you, cheat you, and not do the work you've given him money to do. That's what he did to us. He took money, $800, for a very simple job. He also took a drawer from our kitchen saying he needed it to match the cabinet. He didn't do the work he promised and he kept the drawer.that's right.one of his workers said he lost the drawer.he lies and says he will do the work, but then he doesn't. Is what he does a crime?

I think so. Don't be conned by this con artist. Stay away. Cabinet Modern was a very painful experience for us. I think his main line of work and income is cheating people.

As promised, here are the pictures of kitchen with the cabinets installed. Obviously, we still have work to do, but the cabinets are mostly done. All said, we are still thrilled with cabinets, but we did have a couple of minor problems along the way. Some of the hardware wasn't fastened correctly, the toe kicks were cut incorrectly in a couple of cases, and we are missing panels for under the top cabinets.

In all honesty, we probably should have realized some of this when we picked the cabinets up, but we didn't. Our biggest complaint is a lack of communication. I have left several messages and only received one callback which I missed. If it weren't for his mysterious disappearance, we probably could have lived with all of the little issues because most of them Alex could easily fix. We still feel the value we get from our cabinets has been worth the inconvenience, but that is something you will have to decide for yourself.

This company really lived up to their word. First of all, my kitchen is very small. I got two different estimates with pricing and timing that didn't sound right. I thought I had a good idea of what I wanted this time, and Alex agreed it sounded nice. But, he told me another way that he thought would really turn my kitchen around. Now It's spacious and more beautiful then I thought it ever would be. I'm using this company every time I need cabinets AND I'm recommending them to all my friends and family.

So, i beat this guy in small claims court for over $2000. I don't know if I will collect anything but I do have a collection agency wreaking havoc on his life now. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! His store front is also out of business. which just as funny!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALEX. he is such a crook and so unprofessional. your cabinets will smell toxic and he will try to hustle you for money before he even finishes your job. he is not honest and i would not trust him to work in my home (or anyone elses) ever again. he left our job halfway done and tried to get us to give him more money to finish. we deceided to cut our losses. plus, not only is he unprofessional, so is the quality of his work. his cabinets were installed with scratches and marks and they look banged up when they are supposed to be new cabinets.

We are NINE MONTHS into the job and our kitchen is a disaster, and nowhere near complete. All we ever get are more lies and empty promises. We have never experienced such lack of professionalism, shoddy workmanship, and complete disregard for our time and money. My husband has known Alex and his family for years, yet Alex has the gall to rip us off.

He is a shame to his family. He recently told us that he can't work on our job now because he just received a new contract in excess of $70,000. God help that poor soul! I'm off to the lawyers office today as not only has he not completed our job, he has prevented us from refinancing our home before September 30, 2011 when the jumbo maximum for a home was lowered from 729K to 625K.completely ruining our chances to refinance.

Good thing he got that $70K contract! He is going to need more than that when our lawyer gets through with him! He owes us in excess of $6000 just from the $40 a day penalty he signed if our job wasn't completed on time. Not to mention the cost of replacing what shoddy work has been done and the damages to us for possibly loosing our home now.

I just want to thank Rich for taking the time to write his review. I experienced the exact same thing as he did but did not have the time to write it all out. Please everyone, do not go with this man Alex Barba or use his company! If I could give his company 0 stars I would.

Better kitchen, you know what it feels like when you get brand new car, the smell, brand new shine, it feels very similar walking in to my new kitchen now, thank you Alex for making it happen in such short time.

I fixed my back house for rent and I wanted to have a small kitchen installed I called in, Alex came the day after and helped me decide what to get the next week I had everything ready renters were extremely happy. Highly recommended!!
