Cranbury Design Center was created in early 2001 to leverage the special talents of its owners, Charlie Rini and Frank O'Leary. Bringing together strong experiences in residential space design, including kitchens and baths, master carpentry and general contracting, as well as business project management and strategic marketing, Cranbury Design offers clients a unique full-service experience. All aspects of the project - from client needs assessment, design and filing permits, through general contracting and finish painting - are provided.
We specialize in the design, development, delivery and installation of custom home spaces including kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, additions, home entertainment areas and executive suites. We offer a level of creativity, practical experience, key strategic alliances and services that surpass the expectations of our clients. Our team of professionals listens thoroughly to understand your lifestyle, unique need and requirements, as well as your expectations. Only then do we make recommendations on the kitchen and bath designs that will best meet your particular needs. Because we are builders as well as designers, Cranbury Design professionals are confident that what we design can actually be implemented (by us or your own builder).

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness I scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and quote me on a kitchen remodel. I had to wait two weeks for someone to come and look at my kitchen. Then I was told, I needed to wait 10-14 days for the quote and they never sent the quote. I find that to be very unprofessional. I would never call this company again.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. New granite on island installed short of the wall despite owner's son present during installation, and the fancy laser beam computer they used to make the template. When they replaced that 1/2 of the island, I was told to pick two new slabs and the whole island granite would be replaced. It was not, leading to mismatched granite from slabs far away in sequence.
They glued down one new piece for 1/2 the island and the old piece they had cut. During all this, they managed to chip the vertical backsplash which was "patched", AND the new granite came in chipped too, as you can see by the blue tape. I could go on and on of all the things that happened, but frankly I just want the nightmare to be over.

What a great experience! Everything from the design process, project management/ decoration, all the way through the finishing adjustments was done with great care and professionalism. Everyone from Cranbury Design was knowledgable and friendly. There were no surprises and each of the trade crews knew when to arrive and what to do. It's been about a year since completion and we are still very happy with our kitchen! Highly recommend with no reservations!

Unfortunately, I went on a recommendation of a friend, who herself had not started her kitchen redo. From day one there were problems, too numerous to list from a delay in the tile I ordered (was brought to two tiles places an hour from my home and was told the tile was IN stock. I ended up using a great tile place for my kitchen refresh (ten minutes from my house that I found on my own), to my kitchen island granite countertop being INSTALLED 1 1/2 inches short of the wall!
When they "redid" the granite on the island, they chipped the backsplash which did not have to be removed (but now it needed a repair), and replaced 1/2 of my island with the ORIGINAL piece on that side, which thus ended up that my island has granite from two different slabs (completely out of order). And yes, it's noticeable. They had me choose two NEW pieces but only used one of the new pieces and glued down the old piece on 1/2 of the island (a waste of my time, and sloppy work).
I wondered how they had cut and polished the entire island in less than an afternoon, and then I realized why. (I was told I was a priority.what a joke). Their "polish" job was so bad, they had to come back and polish the granite twice. I ended up ordering all of my kitchen cabinet knobs and pulls myself, after wasting yet another trip to the design center an hour away, and two afternoons, while their design "expert" tried to insist that the paint guy could just drill new holes in my cabinets to accommodate the size handles (3 1/2 inches) she thought I should use!
I found the exact width (3 inches) I needed on an online website, so new holes and patch work did not need to be done. My cabinets would have been ruined if I listened to her "expert" advice. I could go on and on but frankly what was suppose to be an 8 week job, turned into a 5 month nightmare, and my blood pressure goes up every time I think about the job. Don't even get me started on the paint job they did in my kitchen. That's another whole review.

This has been the best experience of any home remodel we've ever done. Elizabeth was the best, as was Lara and Frank. We picked out gorgeous Wellsford cabinets and are so happy with our choice. Cranbury Design was there every step of the way. Taking care of every detail. We will use them again for any remodel. A pleasure to work with and so knowledgeable. We will post a pic when our kitchen is done

After working with 5 different kitchen contractors for 4 months I was referred to Cranbury Design Center. I had dealt with incompetence, lack of follow through or grossly overpriced with those 5 companies. Then I met Elizabeth O'Leary at Cranbury. What a refreshing experience! I discussed my goals and ideas with her. She listened and gave me intelligent pros and cons.
We came up with a layout for the cabinets and appliances that worked for me close enough to my budget. When I made a few small changes she handled them easily. The rip out and installation of cabinets and countertops went flawlessly by their in house contractors and followed the schedule that had been discussed. I'm a happy guy!

We had Charlie come out to look over our kitchen. He charged $450 for a layout, we were immediately unsure. I have been shopping for a kitchen for sometime now and have not come across a fee. Ps. We paid it, he then came back to go over his "drawing" that were hand drawn and could not leave them with us while we discussed it. Because they were "his drawings".
Buyer beware, I wish I would have known this. Already I would not want to do a big job with someone I don't trust. Not to mention I had a decent budget and he came nowhere near that, with all the things that weren't included. Nice guy, sure but that's not getting my kitchen done. Way too expensive! I am out $450 with no design and no kitchen from them!
I could start my own business charging money to go into people houses, getting a check for my visit, and not following through with my promises. Yes, he shook my hand and told me " not to worry, I will have a price for you in your budget". My budget was 20,000 just for cabinet and counter top. With floors and windows my complete budget was 50,000 so I was not being completely unreasonable. My kitchen is 16by 18.
