With over 40 years experience, family owned and operated Tropical Kitchens, utilizes old world craftsmanship with 21st century technology, making all custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets in our Fort Myers factory. Having lived aboard their boat for 13 years while sailing the world, Frank and Doreen Schooley are adept in finding the perfect remodeling solution and maximizing limited space for small kitchens and baths.
Base cabinets or 'bases' sit on the floor. That's simple enough but from there it gets complicated. Most bases have a 'kick' which is a space for your toes to fit into when you stand at the base cabinet to work, cook or vent your aggression on that pizza dough. There are at least two different types of basic base cabinet depending on how this kick is formed.

After a interviewing and obtaining estimates from a number of renovation/remodeling companies for our new dream kitchen, we went with Frank and Doreen at Tropical Kitchens. It was one of the best decisions we ever made! They took our ideas and transformed them into 5-star reality! The quality, care and consideration that was applied to our project was exemplary; real old fashion craftsmanship and courtesy!
Their original quote stayed true to the end. We could not be happier with the project. For any future home remodeling projects, we will not even bother getting alternative bids; we will go with Tropical Kitchens!

While it's not something the the owner of Tropical Kitchens advertises, I discovered Frank Schooley is quite the furniture maker. I guess it shouldn't come as any surprise really as he does make custom kitchen cabinets. I hired him to make a bed that would fit in a very small cottage. It had to be on wheels to easily pull out for cleaning, but I also desperately needed storage.
After he and his wife visited my home to get an idea for the tiny space and how I lived, Frank came up with a great solution that was also made exceptionally well. A queen size bed frame that easily fit into a small space but also had pull out drawers underneath for additional storage. And the best part - the drawers were on the same lovely sliders, high end kitchen cabinets are made so I was able to easily slide them out even though they were loaded up. Frank also made a custom shelf to fit in a nook and essentially act as a desk. Again the area was small so he found the perfect spot to give me desk area I needed without taking up too much space. I would gladly hire them again for any project I have!
