Rude and unprofessional. I called for a quote, and emailed photos as requested. I got a one sentence refusal, and told to contact another person. I Googled that person and only came up with service brokers, so I asked if they had direct contact details. The reply was "No. Try an internet search". Just WOW. I know my job wasn't some massive dream remodel, but that kind of dismissal is just uncalled for.

I've been on their website I have not personally gone to see them, getting the idea that me and my wife would want to redo our kitchen at some point in the future I wanted to get a price point for the quality that I could expect to try to more closely figure out what I wanted in my kitchen and what I was willing to pay for. I will say it does seem like they're pretty good in terms of their quality they offer.
A lot of cabinet companies nowadays are trying to match each other, everything is mostly seeming like they're the same kind of cabinet just different "brands". So just do your research before you buy anything and price compare, but the two websites I've visited, I haven't got any bad vibes from them, I'd probably even go get a consultation, but I'm just not ready for that yet.

After 6 months of planning for a new kitchen 5 years ago we took another 3 months of searching for the right cabinet vendor. Eventually, we came across Dexter Cabinet. Del and Tim were easy to work with and their patience with us constantly looking at samples was much appreciated. Well, the kitchen end result exceeded our expectations. Now in 2020 we required new cabinets and tops in our 2 bathrooms.
No three months of searching required, we came right back to Dexter Cabinets, and in spite of COVID 19 shut downs, we are very pleased with the result. Can't miss with this company.

I am so thankful that I decided to go through Dexter Cabinets and counter tops for our kitchen and bathroom needs on our new build. They are extremely knowledgeable in helping you build your dream kitchen in a manner that you want to use it. Del and Tim's knowledge was invaluable to me and always able to answer my questions. They followed up and made sure all my needs were met. Highly recommend them! Sent from my iPad

Del and Tim were informative, professional and pleasant people with whom to do business. We wanted new cabinets, flooring, lighting and appliances in our kitchen. From tear-down to final touches, we enjoyed the emergence of our "new look" in the kitchen. It is a completely upgraded space and the workmanship on the cabinets, installation, etc. was consistency superior. (Flooring was very capably handled by Merkel's, and the appliances were purchased through Big George's Home Appliance Mart in Ann Arbor). We highly recommend Dexter Cabinetry to anyone seeking to remodel their kitchen.

Tim and Del at dexter cabinet were wonderful to work with. They did a great job at a reasonable price. They redid our kitchen with a minimum of disruption. Their carpenter Ron, electrician Jeff and plumber Chris were all a pleasure to work with and people I would have no problem leaving alone in my home. I highly recommend them.

Great job of pricing and installation; they worked patiently with every quirk we threw at them. They even arranged for a plumber, which too often is the customer's responsibility. The price seemed to not be out of line with the big box stores but the process at those stores was pretty convoluted while Dexter Cabinet put it into one nice package (although we decided to purchase a different faucet than the several good ones they offered in their package).
After a couple go-rounds at Lowe's, we threw up our hands and went with the more "comfortable" (and LOCAL) Dexter Cabinet option. Glad we did. I would however recommend that potential customers take some responsibility for keeping the communication going. Contact them if you don't hear back when you expect to. That worked really well for us. This seems to be the way to work with most contractors, we've found.

We did a kitchen gut remodel of our 1960 ranch, purchased from the original owners. Dexter Cabinets provided our cabinets, as well as finish carpentry. I cannot compliment them enough - Del, Tim, and the crew were fantastic, from start to finish. They steered us to the Pioneer brand of cabinets, with which we are thrilled. The quality is excellent, and we are constantly complimented on them.
They worked with B&B Hardwood on cladding for our beams, as well as a beautiful walnut mantle for our fireplace. What I liked best about working with them was their positive attitude and the sense of collaboration with me as a client who had pretty strong opinions about what I wanted - their answer to every request was always "sure, no problem." We will definitely be working with them again on any future remodeling projects.

Dexter Cabinet & Countertop installed a new kitchen for us, top to bottom. The staff helped design the kitchen and offered really great suggestions to make it work better for our lifestyle. They coordinated the plumber and electrician, who also did great work at a reasonable price. All in all, a great experience.

Went to Dexter Cabinets & Countertop today to simply get an estimate to replace the 25 year old formica countertops in my Mothers home in Ann Arbor. Her condo has been on the market for a month and despite a number of showings, no offers. I have been in the home building and land development business for over 30 years, most recently in California.
In Michigan for a few days to help my Mom. Met with Del, and brought a rough drawing of the areas we want to replace. After some discussion, I was questioned by Del as to why we would want to make these improvements, told that I don't know the Ann Arbor market, and that we may want to just replace the Formica with more Formica? Apparently he was put off by my experience with volume home builders?
All we wanted to do was get an estimate on some better materials which he finally got to after insulting me. Good luck doing business with these guys, they certainly will never get any business from me. Steven Magee, President & CEO, CityHomes

My wife and I went into Dexter Cabinet & Countertop on a Saturday afternoon to get an estimate for cabinets and counters for our new kitchen. It seemed like a nice place with some good options for cabinets and counters. Del was the only one there and helped answer a few questions for us, informing us that he was the "counter guy" and that Tim was not in that day to do our cabinet estimate.
That was fine, Del took our information and kitchen details to leave for Tim to contact us with a cabinet estimate. Del seemed knowledgeable about counters and that he'd do a good job with our counter estimate once Tim could get our cabinets done. 5 days later after calling once and emailing Tim, we hadn't heard anything back. We just bought the house and the 3-4 week lead time for ordering cabinets is part of the critical path of our remodel.
It has been over 2 weeks now and we haven't been contacted once. We clearly were either not a priority for them or they lost/ignored our request for an estimate. They get two stars because they seem like their product is good and other reviewers have claimed that they do good work. We wouldn't know since they wouldn't even get to the point of giving us an estimate for our business. Make sure to call ahead to ensure that Tim or Del is in before driving over there, don't rely on them to contact you.

Dexter Cabinets just finished our project on time and within budget! You don't hear that often. From the layout to the installation it was a pleasure to work with Del, Tim and Ron. They are very professional, skilled workmen, and just generally pleasant people to work with on a project. All follow up details were addressed and completed to our satisfaction. We could not be happier. Thank you!

Dexter Cabinets remodeled our kitchen in the fall of 2014. The principals, Del and Tim Young, were great to work with, and gave us a beautiful result. We were looking for a mix of new installation and re-work of existing structures. That combination resulted in a few unexpected wrinkles, but Del&Tim worked out all the problems gracefully. Dexter Cabinets itself specializes in the cabinetry and counter tops, but they have an excellent group of other craftspeople they work with regularly for electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, so Del and Tim basically functioned as contractors, coordinating everything. (We hired our own people for painting and wood floors).
My wife is thrilled with the results, and, amazingly, the project finished on budget and on time -- the whole process took less than two months! I highly recommend these guys.
