I used them once. Pricey but good. So, I called them to use their service, I needed dining room chairs repaired. Thy asked for pictures. I sent pictures. They have disappeared. No answering the phone, no responses for email. Don't waste your time.

This company stopped communicating with my insurance company and contractors. They were supposed to rebuild my kitchen cabinets, but apparently decided they weren't going to without letting anyone know, delaying my project even further. I'm now on month 5 without and frustrating a kitchen. Very unprofessional and frustrating to say the least

JC Wood Finishing was Professional, Punctual, Quality, Responsive, and an exceptional value emotionally! Linda and Suzie Sutter and Carlos and the fantastic refinishing crew that refinished our furniture after we experienced a terrible flood in our home! Our kitchen table, our antique dining room table, and our garden room couch, chairs, coffee, console, and side table, and our porch chairs and side tables were all repaired perfectly.

I was delighted to have my childhood dining room table refinished to the same finish it originally had been, using a extra leaf from the table. I am most grateful to Linda, Suzie, Carlos and their entire team for offering us excellent customer care and service! We appreciated everyone's thoughtfulness and quintessential professionalism. Bravo from a happy and satisfied customer, during a very difficult time in our lives!

I would not recommend this company. The guy said he was out of time and did not finish the job. He also did a poor job on parts he did do. We still have some kind of film on one cabinet and his touch up work looks terrible. They cashed the check right away but we could not get them to respond or come back out to finish/correct the work.

I am thrilled with the restoration of my antique rocking chair. JCWood did a beautiful job! They were professional and responsive, helped me pick fabric, and provided options for cost savings. Work was done in a reasonable timeframe. I highly recommend them.

Consumer beware! I scheduled an appointment on 7/27/20 and sent photographs of what I needed repaired as requested. Three weeks later I received an e-mail on 8/17/20, the the date the repair man was suppose to come to my home now saying they couldn't fix the minor scratches and touch ups? Again it took them three weeks later to tell me this?

What an amazing job JC Wood did. My table and cabinet were damaged by my dog. I thought they wouldn't be able to get fixed. Alex the technician was very professional and detailed to the damages. I heard about this company from several people. I called to get a quote expecting that it might be cheaper to just buy a new table. The quote was high but the table needed quite a bit of work and I figured I would save myself a few dollars vs buying new, I would be recycling something and eliminate the hassle of having to shop, etc. I am so glad I did!

The work they did was amazing. The table was totally scratched and worn but now it looks almost like new. They stained it to match the style and color of two other pieces in the room (one new, the other MCM). It looks fantastic. The people were very nice and easy to work with. Be sure to allow plenty of time because the good work takes time! I definitely recommend them.

I've refinished more furniture with JC Wood than I can recall, but the end product is always gorgeous and above expectations. From cracked wood to re-upolstery, their work is professional and detailed. They are not inexpensive, but I have trusted them with my best antiques without reservation!

We had an excellent experience and are now waiting for our second product! The staff at JC Wood is friendly, competent, and caring. Don't expect your job to be done quickly. They are timely enough; quality certainly overrides speed. We love this business!

We have had 4 pieces of furniture repaired after a disastrous 4000 mile move. All were custom made select exotic woods virtually unknown here locally. Their team of specialists and have made all four look like new. A rocker with cane seat and back that belonged to my grand mother dating to the early 1900s was damaged when someone stood on the caning and left a gaping hole.

They even fixed the caning and made it look like it was the original. Pleasant people to deal with who take ownership of the concept of good service and quality. I highly recommend them.

Linda also made different recommendations on how we might proceed with the job. The phone conversations I had regarding pick up and delivery were exceptional, thanks to Jesse. Pick up and delivery was carried out in a very timely fashion, the crew on the trucks, was very personable and professional.

My furniture had lots of scratches and dings. It had been in storage for a year. The service man did a great job. He was knowledgeable and explained what couldn't be repaired and why. It took a few weeks to get an appointment, but I'm happy with the results.

Impeccable service, from an impeccable team from literally the phone call to the finish work preformed. I've utilized the team on multiple extremely high-end detailed projects and they are truly the only team I trust to touch up, restore, or refinish my projects. (I've literally begged to fly them to projects that are no where near IL)

JC Wood did a fantastic job reupholstering our beautiful old dining room chairs. They were very patient and helpful with me as I took a long time to choose the fabric and schedule the project. My husband worked for a seating company and is very fussy. He was incredibly impressed with their work. The chairs look better than new, feel so comfortable and the fabric is tight and very neatly done.

They chose the nail heads and they look beautiful, better than the original. We highly recommend JC Wood. We felt the price was very fair as well. Do keep in mind that fine workmanship does take time. Don't wait until the last minute, give your project enough time to be done properly.

I'm surprised by any negative reviews for this company, since we had an excellent experience with them from start to finish. I asked for an estimate, received it in a timely fashion and found their customer service to be helpful and professional. We're doing a bathroom remodel and after searching for a new vanity, we couldn't find one we liked as much as what we already owned. JC Wood did an excellent job of turning our dated oak vanity into something more current to fit our updated bathroom.

We were happy with the result, the price, the quality of the work, the office staff and the timeliness of getting the job completed to fit the time frame of our remodel. We will certainly use JC Wood for our refinishing needs in the future. When we dropped off our piece to be finished we even got a tour of the work area! Give them a call - believe me, they do EVERYTHING!

Not sure why there would even be one negative review on this place! I just used them to repair a deep scratch on our wood floor. While they warned me they can only guarantee up to 70% improvement, they far exceeded that expectation. The floor looks brand new, 100% repaired, no one can even tell where the original scratch is! They were very responsive to my calls and emails and quick to set up an appointment as I requested for this to be fixed sooner rather than later.

The service man was very nice, on-time and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them again for any future repairs that are needed. Thank you for all your help!

We have had JC Wood do a number of projects through the years. We are still enjoying a sofa bed and recliner that they reupholstered and refinished. Our master bedroom set was redone by them and is still in very good condition. They also installed an oak cabinet and created wood railings for the stairs at our son's and daughter-in-law's home. They do excellent work and are wonderful people with whom to work. My husband and I would highly recommend them and will continue to do business with them as the need arises.

JC Wood's craftsmanship is amazing! They refinished many pieces that were my grandmother's and very special to me, and all were completed beautifully. They also have an incredible service where they will come to your home and repair all those annoying odds and ends that always drive me crazy--broken shelves, wobbly legs, minor scratches on furniture, broken pieces of woodwork. They fixed everything within a couple of hours.

We had a shelf, 40 inches x18 inches, that was cracked. We sent photos of it to JC Wood. They said it could be repaired in our home. When the woodworker arrived he said he'd have to take it to the shop. Of course, now it costs more. It took a month to get the appointment and two more months in their shop. So we paid over $200 and waited three months to have a shelf repaired that only took a half hour according to the woodworker.

The man who came to our house to see the piece was very nice. That is were nice ended. The office manager was extremely uncooperative, it took her forever to answer emails, my last one she just ignored. I asked if they could put this shelf on the next truck that came into the city and I'd meet it. In over a month she told me no one was driving into the city.

I found that odd since the man who came to my house said he had three more stops in our area that day. This had been the most aggravating company I've ever encountered in Chicago. Save yourself the time, money, irritation and find another company. I only wish I could give no stars. One star is overly generous.

I had contacted JC Wood to come and fix some of my furniture. The person that came out for inspection was fantastic. Once the operations department was in control, it became a horrible disaster. They booked a month and a half out. They were 3 hours late. Then the second time they called they were another hour late. Then, the technician said he had the wrong parts.

And I would have to wait another month to get the parts in. And then reschedule. They were totally unprofessional and I had to get a new company. a total waste of my time. They have HORRIBLE communication. They said they called me to schedule and because they didn't tell each other I schedule they almost booked me out another 2 months. What is wrong with these people and their management! RETIRE already.

Even after all of that, I thought I would give them another chance. WELL, they blew it again by not calling me when i requested to speak to the owner. All in all this place does not even deserve 1 star but because I had to put it on there that is what they get. CRAPPY crappy company.

I had JC Wood come on site and repair some scratches in a coffee table and remove some water stains from a dining room table. I'm very happy with the result. The technician was very good. He also gave me some tips on maintaining the wood. The customer service staff is responsive and did a nice job of scheduling and following up.
