Armstrong Kitchens, our second generation family business, has been going strong for 70 years. I want to share with you a few of our accomplishments over time. We've supplied over 20,000 kitchens, from Toronto to Corpus Christi, each one unique, with most right here in Kansas City. The story of Armstrong Kitchens is very much that of the kitchen industry itself.
In 1951, Mark and Betty Armstrong opened for business as the modern kitchen industry was beginning to grow. They built fine custom cabinetry for new homes, when the average price for a new kitchen was about $640, installed!

Services
1974-1980 Beginning as a cabinet maker, moved up the ranks of the Armstrong Cabinet Co. While working in many different areas of this custom cabinet shop, she learned "hands on" all aspect of cabinet making, finishing, and cabinet design; By the end of Kristeen's custom shop experience, she was a trained cabinet maker and finisher.
Formal Training & Background: 1983 - Having married Kristeen in 1981, initially joined Armstrong Kitchens as an installation specialist, coming from a life-long background in home building. 1989 - Along with wife Kristeen, assumed ownership of Armstrong Kitchens upon the retirement of founders Mark and Betty Armstrong.
1984-1986 - Designer at Total Look Interiors in Tucson, AZ. She assisted customer selections in carpeting, tile, drapery, paint and residential space planning. 1986-1990 - Drafted and designed architectural blue prints for custom and semi-custom homes, for codes approval by the city of Tucson for building permits.

We had our main bathroom remodeled and I'm go glad I found Armstrong Kitchens. They are amazing. We were really nervous because this was our first time doing a big house project but they made it so easy. Kristeen was really fun to work with and was great at taking our ideas and working them into something realistic and beautiful. Not only are they knowledgeable but they really love what they do and want you to be happy with it.
Everyone that came into our house was so nice. The finished product is so gorgeous. We decided to replace our kitchen counters this year too, in a large part because we had such a great experience working with Kristeen, Lowell and everyone at Armstrong Kitchens.

I used Armstrong on my new home construction project 34 years ago. I chose them (even tho they did not Persue new construction) because they had remodeled my uncles kitchen and my mother's kitchen a few years earlier. To be blunt, if they could make MY mother happy, they had to be good. I have never been sissapointed. They were the best. To give you perspective, the cabinet installer and I watched the news break of the Space Shuttle challenger explosion in January of 86' Now 34 years later it's time to update. They are my go to kitchen people.

We recently remodeled our home. This included remodeling every room in the house. The design work by Kristeen and Bethany was perfect and matched our tastes. The crews were wonderful. Lowell coordinated all of the work and made the process so easy. They left the house every night in great condition. I love every room. I could sleep in my chef pantry. And every time I look around I can't believe I really live here. I would recommend them and can't imagine going to anyone else for future work.

I never got a quote after spending up to an hour in the store discussing our plans and picking out colors and hardware. I even brought accurate measurements. We did get a call about 2 weeks later with an apology that she hadn't called us because she was sick but Never heard from her again. I personally would not recommend to a friend.

I cannot possibly recommend Armstrong Kitchens highly enough. If you want quality design and implementation, don't bother to look elsewhere. This is it. Excellent, experienced design and management of the project from start to finish. They have decades-long relationships with carpenters, electricians, etc, who do very high quality work to their specifications.
The process went smoothly and on time, and we always felt supported if we had a question or concern. Everything was designed, built, and finished beautifully. They did the scheduling, inspections, etc. The results are spectacular! I am very particular, and I am completely satisfied and amazed. Kristeen, Lowell, and Vicki are a pleasure to work with. We could not be more happy with our choice of Armstrong Kitchens.
