John Dietz, a carpenter by trade, founded the C.C. Dietz Company in 1921. He was also a cigar maker. Luckily for homeowners in the York, PA area, John stuck with carpentry and when his son Charles took over, he decided to specialize in residential construction. The next generation to follow suit was Charles' son, Charles Jr., who took over the family business in 1949.

We couldn't be happier with the basement project completed by CC Dietz. From our first meeting with Chris to the completed basement he was attentive and excellent to work with. They put a bedroom, full bathroom and recreational room in our unfinished basement. It looks terrific. All of the subcontractors were considerate and easy to work with. Communication was excellent throughout the project even though we were out of town for a time. We would highly recommend them.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality Do not recommend this company. Workers were unprofessional and messy. Had to keep going back to "project manager" who is the son. I ended up fixing the drywall and paint myself. Tub fixtures are offset (unfortunately didn't notice this during project). Don't buy into the fact that they have been in business for 100 years. Since purchasing our house in 2017, we have worked with CC Dietz on 3 additions, the last one being a 1,000 sf in size and included a kitchen, laundry room, mudroom and ensuite bedroom. Chris and his team are always eager to work with us as his father originally built the house and there is something great about generational small businesses. It's the sense of pride and craftsmanship that has been passed down that truly shines in their work.
The team shows up every day, keeps to the construction timeline and even in the difficult time of supply chain issues this summer was open to suggestion, change orders and figuring a way to make it work and always coming back for any punch list items. Their pricing is competitive and the team will work with you on a designated budget. CC Dietz's sub-contractors are some of the best as well, Chris surrounds himself with great tradesmen that he has long standing relationships with and they arrive when needed and work to the common goal of completing the project.

We are very happy with our kitchen renovation. Our old kitchen was outdated and no longer functional. Scott and his team came up with the perfect design. We felt both Donny and Scott kept us informed the entire process. Pricing was fair and they kept to the budget despite a few unforeseen circumstances. Scott stayed on the schedule laid out at the beginning of our project. We plan to use Scott for all our future projects.
